At Hushnest, our sole mission is to bring balance back into modern life.
We believe that it is important to unplug from the daily hustle and focus on yourself, your relationships and the wonders of nature, not just when you visit Hushnest, but in your every day.
Incorporating balance in your daily routine allows you to better focus on life while you are engaged in the hustle and bustle of city living.
All Hushnest sites have been thoughtfully set up at the most magical close-to-nature locations, mostly with limited phone network and each nest has a "lock-your-phone" box to exchange your phone with a pack of UNO cards.
Besides offering peace, quiet and unstructured time to recharge, there are a lot of great things that a Hushnest Vacation can do to your mind, body and soul. Here are a few tips to bring those healthy benefits into your everyday life:
Put your phone on Do not Disturb.
Work is stressful; but when the day is done, allow yourself some time to recharge. Start building a strong work-life balance by putting your phone on Do Not Disturb mode when you leave the office. This lets you destress and allows your mind to wander away from those projects and assignments, so you can focus on the other important parts of your life – like your relationships or your favourite hobbies.
P.S. There are a lot of apps that let you switch off those notifications from social media apps. Give it a try!
Allocate some time for yourself.
Making time for you is probably the hardest thing to do for the typical overworked and overwhelmed person, but it is crucial for lowering stress, increasing happiness and encouraging creativity. Take out at least a couple of hours everyday to refocus, recharge and do the things you love. Take a class, learn to paint or try something new that you’ve always wanted to learn. Read a book that sparks your interest or try listening to uplifting music. Find what interests you or simply sit quietly for a few minutes each day and do absolutely nothing. You can do it!
It’s a given that if your life is overflowing you will never be able to achieve balance and manage it all. It’s just not possible. Say no to everything that is either not essential or doesn’t add something valuable to your life. Be ruthless!
Pay attention to your health.
All of us know this but a lot if us neglect it. We know what we need to do, but it isn’t a priority until we have a health crisis. Our health really does affect the quality of our lives and our work. We are far more productive and happier when we get enough sleep, eat a little healthier and fit in some type of activity. Its best to start your day with a walk in the park and a few minutes of meditation.
Set aside quality time with your family and friends. Don’t just sit in front of the television, really connect and pay attention to those you care about. Make a date with your significant other, have coffee with a friend, play a game with a child. Really get to know the people around you.
Get a pedicure or a facial. Better yet, schedule a massage. It doesn’t need to be costly; a glass of wine, your favourite coffee or tea, a delightfully scented candle or beautiful flowers will make a huge impact.
Laugh, joke, play, find your sense of humour, subscribe to a daily joke or get a tear-off calendar. Nothing makes the feel better as fast as a good old-fashioned belly laugh.
